Jill Stuart, Ph.D., is an academic based at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Since March 2013 she has been Editor in Chief of the journal Space Policy, the pre-eminent academic journal on the topic. Dr. Stuart’s research focuses primarily on the politics, law, theory, and governance of outer space. This ranges from the study of satellite regulations to the nature of state sovereignty for objects in space.
Dr. Stuart regularly comments and writes for the media (print,radio, and television) and gives public lectures on her area of expertise. She is the 2015 British Science Association’s Margaret Mead Award Lecture winner for her research in the social sciences. Originally from Oregon, she has lived in London for 14 years and is endorsed by the UK Home Office as an Exceptionally Talented Migrant and World Leader in her Field.
